There are many opportunities for cycling directly from the park including a route of about 5 miles that will take you to Cycle Route 1 that follows the coast to Berwick upon Tweed and beyond or south to Lindisfarne or on to Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnmouth for the more adventurous.
The two routes below follow mostly quiet roads directly from the site and can be extended as you prefer.
Turning left on leaving the park, this route follows quiet roads with some climbs but nothing too hard. Lovely views over the countryside and past Oxford Farm Shop & Cafe
This route (clockwise) heads to Cycle Route 1 and then follows the coast to Lindisfarne. A short distance on the busy A1 could be done by pushing the bikes on the verge after crossing the road if preferred. The junction is visible and it is not far. Turning left when reaching Route 1 will take you to Berwick. Turning right passes the beach with views to Holy Island but does turn to a grassy track for part of the route.
Going anti-clockwise from Ancroft will take you to the cycle track leading to Lidisfarne.
